Lesson: Augmented Triads and Chords
What happens when we add a major 3rd above or below a note? Easy, we get a major 3rd interval. Now what happens when we add a major 3rd to the 3rd we just added? Then we stack another major 3rd on top of that? And then another, and another. What happens? Is my amp going to explode? Is it like looking at the sun? Will the heat from the exploded amp transfer to my guitar cable and heat up the strings on my guitar enough to burn my fingertips?
Um, I don't think so. You just played an augmented triad.
Check it out.
