Lesson: Rhythm Change Inversions
Instructor: Jon Skibic

Series: Chord Chemistry

Hello and welcome back to another installment of Chord Chemistry. In this lesson we will study the basic chord progression, one-six-two-five or I-vi-ii-V. This progression is commonly know as "Rhythm Changes" after the famous Gershwin composition, "I Got Rhythm". Countless tunes were written based on this progression and because of it's basic diatonic chord sequence, it's open to a lot of interpretations and chord substitutions. We will also be paying attention to chord voicing, common tones, tensions, and of course, inversions of the seventh chord.
