Lesson: How To Play - Champagne Supernova
Oasis recorded the classic "Champagne Supernova" for their second and most successful album "What's The Story Morning Glory". MTV placed the seven minute video in rotation and it was an unlikely runaway hit. Brit-pop was in full force, waving the Union Jack with attitude and a snotty rock n' roll swagger that was missing in the pop charts. Along with its dreamy, psychedelic, Beatle-esque, 60's overtones, the angelic voice of Liam Gallagher, and the crafty songwriting of Noel Gallagher, Oasis had an ace in their pocket- the lead guitar of Paul Weller from the legendary mod heros, "The Jam".
